New Brighton, PA
It was so good to see my grandparents. It had been less than a year but we were long overdue.
We were busy. Three days of non-stop visiting, eating and enjoying Beaver Valley.
My favorite places to eat were Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe & Shakespeare's in New Brighton as well as the amazing Cafe Kolache in downtown Beaver. My #1, however, was my Aunt Patty's house. She's a wonderful cook, and she even taught me how to make her famous fudge! She's not a blogger, though...I think I'm the first (and only) in my family :)
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Monaca across from the Beaver Valley Mall and went to the archery club with my grandpap...
We saw lots of Steelers stuff at a sports store in downtown Beaver...
I never realized what a cool place New Brighton is. I could've spent a couple of weeks there, talking with my grandparents, walking around with my camera, antiquing, sitting on the river and admiring the views and the gaggle of Canadian geese...

So glad that you had a good visit!
I'm in awe of how you manage to capture the essence of things in your pictures.
How precious! You had so much fun and you relaxed and enjoyed the people you love! Your pictures are just beautiful and takes me to where you were. Thank you for sharing with us.
BTW, learning to make ice cream in any type of way is a great experience. I have trouble with always wanting new kitchen toys. My best cooking memories is from when I was growing up and making things using my imagination. We didn't have very much then =). Hugs, Shandy
That's so awesome that you had such a lovely time visiting your grandparents. They sure live in a beautiful looking area! I've never heard of New Brighton before, but it looks like a place I'd enjoy hanging out for a while too :)
Sounds like a really fun trip! I would have especially enjoyed the part where you learned how to make fudge - YUM.
Katie, thank you SO much for your comment on my blog. Your honesty and the fact that you were willing to share a piece of your story means so much to me, and I'm really glad that you got something out of what I wrote about. Best of luck to you in your recovery - please know that I'm always around the blogosphere (or email!) if you ever need to talk about anything.
Great photos! So I'm assuming you're sharing this famous fudge recipe, yes? ;)
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip! Awesome photos!
Me alegro de que te lo hayas pasado tan bien con tu familia. Ahora a practicar un poco más el español, si?
Un beso.

Great pics! Looks like a fun place and how great you were able to spend time with your grandparents. I haven't had g-parents since I was a toddler so I missed out on those fun things so I'll live vicariously thru you. :)
Thanks for your visit and comment today. You made a great point that food GIVEN in love also counts. It really does make a difference.
I love your blog! Great photos, recipes and JEWELERY! Love it! I've made a couple of things myself when my sister was into it (she had all the tools and stuff) and it was fun. There were some things I found tricky about it though! :) Your earrings are beautiful!
Thanks for the comment on my blog! It looks like you were visiting my old stomping grounds, judging from the Steelers glass!
I look forward to reading your blog. Your photos are great!
